Use an idea’s Info window to view and add notes and to view and complete polls.
To open an idea’s Info window, do one of the following:
• Double-click an idea in the Session window, or
• Click an idea to select it, then choose Idea Info from the Ideas menu.
Click the close box to close the Info window.
Adding notes
You can add supporting detail, additional information, or politic ideas in the Notes field of each idea’s Info window. The Notes field functions like the Chat palette with a private and public area.
Follow these steps to add notes.
Double-click an idea to open its Info window.
Click in the private area and type your notes.
Click the Send button or press RETURN or ENTER to send your message to the public notes area.
Viewing and completing polls
Each idea’s Info window contains an evaluation tool that you can use to express your level of support for the idea. Your response will add to the group’s evaluation of each idea.
To view an idea’s poll results, open its Info window by double-clicking the idea in the Session window. The default view displays your poll results. Click the Group button to view the group’s poll results.
If this is the first time you have polled a particular idea, the head will be displayed as off-line or grayed. To complete your poll, make sure that you have selected the Me button. Either drag the Head icon or click the position on the sliding scale to indicate your evaluation.
You can change your poll results as many times as you change your opinion.
You may want to poll many ideas without opening each idea’s Info window. Or you may have forgotten which ideas you have polled.
In either case, you can open your unpolled ideas’ Info windows by choosing Select Unpolled from the Ideas menu, then double-clicking one of the selected ideas, or choosing Idea Info from the Ideas menu.
You also can quickly review the Info windows of ideas you have completed polls on by following these steps: from the Ideas menu, choose Select Polled, then choose Idea Info from the Ideas menu.
If you have polled more than ten ideas, you will receive an alert telling you to repeat the second step when you finish reviewing these ideas.
When you close an Info window it deselects. This means that you can get through all of the polled windows by closing the ones you have reviewed and continuing to choose Idea Info until this menu item is dimmed.
